For movie enthusiasts, it’s a norm to keep looking at what the creative world has to offer. Ideally, the best way to know this is by looking at the latest dvd releases. The following movies were released in September 2016. There are both Bollywood and Hollywood movies that received mixed reactions.
1. Morgan
Morgan is a British-American science fiction horror film directed by Luke Scott and written by Seth Owen. Shooting began in May 2015 in Ireland, United Kingdom and released on 2 September. The main cast Paul Giamatti, Toby Jones, Kate Mara, and Rose Leslie. It was on the blacklist of best-unproduced movies in 2014. In the USA it was released alongside The Light Between Oceans. The movie has received mixed reactions. Rotten Tomatoes gives the film an approval rating of four out of five based on 123 reviews.
2. Yoga Hosers
Yoga Hosers is an American comedy film written and directed by Kevin Smith. The film is a slight revision of Smith’s horror film, Tusk, from 2014. The main cast Johnny Depp, his daughter Lily-Rose Depp and Smith’s daughter Harley Quinn. The film was released on September 2, 2016 at the Sundance Film Festival.
3. When the Bough Breaks
It’s an American psychological thriller film written by Jack Olsen and directed by Jon Cassar. The main cast Morris Chestnut, Theo Rossi, Regina Hall, and Jaz Sinclair. The film was released on September 9, received mostly negative reviews. The film preparation started in 2014 when Sony’s Screen Gems contracted Jon Cassar as the director. Theo Rossi was added on January 8, 2015. The film received an approval rating of 6% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 17 reviews. The overall rating was 3.5 stars with a comment Shallow, clichéd, and silly instead of suspenseful’.
4. Island City
Island City was released on the 2nd of September written and directed by Ruchia Oberoi. This drama film had a critical reception due to its originality. Movie reviewers have praised its nerve to ignore the tradition of Bollywood movies and use a distinctive rhythm. The product was unique and creative, full of sly wit. Oderai won the FEDORA prize to celebrate him as the best young director. Filming kicked off in March 2015 in New Orleans, St. Charles Avenue. In the USA it was released alongside The Wild Life, Sully, and The Disappointments Room.
5. Baat Baar Dheko
Translated into English, it means ‘look again and again.’ It is a romantic/drama Indian Hindi-language movie released on the 9th of September. A new face directs it in the field of the movie called Nitya Mehra. The main cast Katrina Kaif and Siddharth Malhotra. It released alongside sports romantic comedy Freaky Ali by Khan. Some sites give it a rating of 1 out of 5 with a comment ‘a feeble script is built on constant, relentless revelations with artlessly expository dialogues.’…
